From a Pentecostal Preacher to a Comedian

Whoever doesn’t know anything about Sam Kinison as an American stand-up comedian and an actor would probably be not surprised that he is a former Pentecostal preacher.

At first, Sam followed his father’s footsteps by earning a decent living as a preacher. However, that wasn’t sufficient for him; he unexpectedly brought his thoughts and ideas to comedy clubs. He became one of the loudest and most offensive comedians in the 20th century. For some, his name invokes images of wild hard-partying and hard-drinking. His existence became the traditional image of sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll. After coming to a realization that alcohol and drugs were killing him, he decided to clean up his life and married Malika Souiri. Unfortunately, days after their wedding they had a car accident which killed Sam in 1992.
