Life is a strategy

Emotions are like scales, and placing life’s experiences on each side will create the sort of emotional flux most of us are experiencing. It’s inevitable as a human to be susceptible to our emotions; almost no one is exempt from a mood swing in their lives. How can we as a human race blame anyone but ourselves? How are we to change and attract success back into our lives? In a world that’s seemingly rampant with disasters and conflict and disease, it doesn’t help that the media broadcasts a very bleak picture of reality. We become depressed about how our world is turning out, and the bleak outlook seems to follow us on a more personal level, in our everyday lives.

Something must be done. We cannot live our lives walking amongst the shadows that continue to cast dark clouds in our lives. We have to find the light and for that to happen; we need help. In addition, help can only come from the one person we can depend on at all times - ourselves. Whatever our emotional disposition is, we can attract success to our lives like a bee to honey if we just reach down deep within the recesses of our subconscious and change our mindsets. Our mind controls everything about us, and within the frontal lobe of the brain is where our emotions, our attitudes and our behaviours are controlled. Of course, there is no way for us to simply go in and tweak the machinery so to speak - the journey will be hard and sometimes, it will be long. However, the rewards are like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Psychologists all over the world have narrowed down failure in life to the subconscious. They have focused in on the inner mind as the key ingredient to change our drive, our ambition and our attitudes in life. There is nothing physical about it. We feel tired in the office and have no energy because we tell ourselves to do so. We look at risk with wary eyes and avoid it like the plague because we are taking instructions from a subconscious mind that is unwilling to embrace the unconventional. Due to negative past experiences in our lives or even by hearsay, our subconscious influences how we react to certain situations; whether it’s the lack of confidence in public-speaking, or even succumbing to depression because of how hard we think life has become. It is within ourselves to improve, and we all have both the power and potential to make a difference in our lives.

Meditation, hypnosis, technology, affirmation; these are just methods - inroads to the hand within our heart, within our spirit that can force a change within ourselves. The single tip that I can give you to attract success in your life is to think positive at all times. Overcome yourself using the power of self persuasion. It will be hard to push through, but once you overcome the inertia; once you break the barrier in your life - you will gain a momentum like you have never seen before. Life will seem to shine with a new light, you will tend to smile more, ambition becomes second nature and you will see new opportunities where you once saw grey patches of risk. Do yourself a favour and think positive. Your chance at success is at stake.

I find it quite amazing that we are a society of failures. A contributing factor to this ridiculously high rate of failure is the fact that we’re content with what we have, even if it’s something most people won’t equate to as a success. We are a population of ‘make do’ individuals who are happy to sit on our laurels and watch the world go by. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for us to throw in the towel when the going gets tough; if you think about it, it’s the very nature of survival, of evolution. Life is precious and I think we have been given hands for a reason - to reach out and grab opportunity and bend it to our will, use to our advantage and rest only when we are at the top. This is the psychology of success - and I will discuss 3 overlooked reasons why people fail.

The first reason is selling yourself short. Many of us tend to doubt our own abilities for greatness, thinking that there are plenty of others around us who are successful because they are better than us and we just don’t have what it takes. Yeah, right. This is just the sort of attitude that separates your boss from you and keeps that fence there. How else can you break through the barriers of life when the most effective of them all are the ones that you have created for yourself? Belief in yourself is the first and most important rule of all. You must believe in yourself and know that one day you will succeed. Take pride in who you are and what you can become, because the hunger for success will spur you onward to greatness. In some cases you are not here to make friends and be the nice guy/girl that bends over backwards for everyone you see.

Failure is merely a stepping stone toward success. That is a mantra I want you to keep locked in the back of your mind. Failure is the only way you can improve yourself - but only if you look at it from this perspective. Don’t slouch your shoulders, don’t look back in anger and immediately search for a way out. I want you to grab failure with both of those hands that nature has given you and look it full in the face and tell yourself you will never ever ever make the same mistake ever again. When you fall, pick yourself back up and get back in. Everyone makes mistakes and perfectionists are just failing narcissists in grand robes that will always fall away. Don’t allow failure to break you; force it to mould you into something better, stronger, harder, so future problems won’t be that much of a hindrance to you.

There are no disabilities, only opportunities. Think you can’t type very well - turn that lack of skill and be a master orator. Physically unfit? Then use your mind to bend steel. Whatever happens to you in life, it could be even an accident that leaves you hurt and breaks your confidence - don’t let it take over your mind and your body. The only true injury is in your mind - when you have accepted your fate and surrender your life to a storm of oncoming failures. I guarantee you that your mind is the most powerful object in your body, it can transform lives and it has granted people with a wealth of riches that is unimaginable.

The only yardstick of success is yourself. Be happy with your life and keep that engine of ambition always fuelled. You will be amazed with the results.

Millions of people around the world practice the Buddhism religion. But that does not mean that it is the right religion for you. You may be very happy with your current beliefs. But did you know that there are still aspects of Buddhism that you may want to consider practicing? Many people employ aspects of Buddhism each day and do not realize it. Meditation, Buddhist art and Yoga are just some of the ways that people are connecting with Buddhism each day of their lives. It may be time for you to give it a try.

Yes, most Buddhists have a Buddha statue to look to for guidance and as a way to keep in touch with the Buddhism religion. Many people find the Indian and Tibetan artwork very relaxing and have incorporated it into their decor for their homes. With very pleasing color tones and a sense of tranquility, the Buddhist art is transforming many bedrooms and work places into Zen meditation retreats.

Speaking of meditation, the art of meditation practice is one that everyone should learn. It is a way to clear the mind and rid the body of stress. If you have had a bad time at work or you are under considerable family stress, meditation may be just what you need to find relaxation and a way to work through those problems. You do not have to assume some of the more traditional poses for meditation. Simply sit in a chair with your back straight, shoulders squared and your feet planted firmly. You will then take in deep breaths through the nose and exhale slowly through the mouth. While performing this breathing exercise you should begin working on clearing your mind. This mini “meditation retreat” can help you relieve the stress and tension in your body. If you devote just ten or fifteen minutes a day to this when things get stressful, then you will be able to tackle those touchy situations in no time at all. It will give you the time you need to think clearly.

One aspect of the Buddhism religion that is practiced in gyms across the world is yoga. This form of exercise allows you to assume different positions and relieve the stress and anxiety that may be plaguing you. If you need help getting started or simply want more information, then there are many books on Buddhism for sale in your local bookstore or you can check them out at your local library.

Buddhism

Many people have questions when it comes to the Buddhist religion and philosophy. It is a widely accepted practice that has millions and millions of followers. Buddhism is more than just about a Buddhist monk selling prayer beads in your local airport. It is a study of the mind and spirit within us all. If you are not familiar with the Buddhist religion, then you are not alone. Many people in the Western culture are not aware of the unique history of Buddhist studies. It is a philosophy and religion that is mainly found in Eastern cultures.

There are two main schools of Buddhism. There is the Mahayana and the Theravada. Each of these facets of Buddhist teachings is different but they have many of the same similarities. Perhaps the biggest difference is in how bodhi or enlightenment is reached and what is required to aspire to the level of the Dali Lama.

The Buddhist religion and philosophy is based on the teachings of Gautama Buddha. There are four main beliefs that the Mahayana and Theravada believe in. These are: the Middle Way, Dependent Origination, the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path. The journey to Buddhahood is the highest attainment that anyone following the religion Buddhism can attain.

Many people associate the Buddhist religion with meditation practice, a Buddha statue and Buddhist practice. These are all true for this belief. Meditation is a huge part of attaining enlightenment. It requires the person to enter into a Zen like state in which they search for the meanings of life. Many people who practice this religion will have a Buddha statue as a reminder of the trials and tribulations that Gautama Buddha went through on his journey to enlightenment. No one is asking you to fast and remain still for forty-nine days, as the Buddha did, but it does require some discipline.

One of the main tenants of this philosophy and religion is that you should not cause harm to others. The religion and spirituality Buddhism teaches is that the way to spiritual enlightenment is through letting transgressions go. Yes, there will be pain and suffering in life but each person should hold nothing against others for their wrongdoings. To hold transgressions and hatred close to the heart only stops the person from growing spiritually.

Buddhism has a lot to offer people from all walks of life. You do not have to be a practicing Buddhist monk to take advantage of some of the Buddhist teachings. Many people love to meditate and have found a way to incorporate this aspect into their own lives. Simply reading about the history of Buddha and learning a little about his journey can provide you with inspiration for your own life.

The story about Buddhism and how it came to be all started long ago with a king named Suddhodana. It was his son, Siddhartha, who would later in life become the Buddha. Yes, some of the stories you find on the internet and in books are often fantastical in its nature. It is a unique blend of fairytale and fact in the Buddhist teachings that can be found today. There is quite a lot more to Buddhism than just having a big Buddha statue sitting on your desk as a decoration. It is a great piece of history and millions of believers follow the teachings of Buddhism.

A prediction was made by a holy man regarding Siddhartha. The holy man prophesized that the young prince would either grow up to become a great ruler or he would become a wise holy man. The king was obviously dismayed that his son might abdicate his princely life and so tried to shelter the young man from the outside world. Unfortunately for Suddhodana, this did not stop the outside world from coming into contact with his son. At the age of 29, Siddhartha came into contact with what is now known as the “Four Sights.” He came across an elderly man, a corpse, a diseased man and a holy man. This gave him a glimpse into the sufferings of mankind and Siddhartha was so moved that he abandoned his princely throne to become a holy man himself.

The principle about Buddhism is one of enlightenment. It is a goal that Siddhartha sought through a variety of trials. He realized that pure fasting and enduring pain was not the way to end suffering within himself or in anyone else. His method and those of Buddhist teachings is to find the path to enlightenment, or Bodhi, by using meditation.

Siddhartha’s meditation retreat came in the form of meditating beneath a tree outside of a village for forty-nine days. It was during these forty-nine days that he attained enlightenment and could begin teaching his findings to the rest of the world. From this point on, Siddhartha became known as Buddha. Buddhist studies teach followers that the true path to ending human suffering in this world is to follow a strict path set forth by the Buddha. It involves ritualized chants and meditations to alleviate the conflicts that plague humanity.

If you are interested in learning more about Buddhism and the principles that make up this religion and philosophy, then there are many websites and centers that you can turn to for information. Perhaps the Buddhist practice will become one that you wish to follow in your pursuit of higher endeavors. You can visit www.buddhism.about.com for more information.

The kind of time management techniques you used in high school will not work when you get to college. If you are used to doing your work last minute while you were in college, you will discover that this is not possible in college. For your college career to work successfully, you need to put to use the following good time management strategies described in this article.

Unlike high school, college classes don’t always meet every single day. The normal tendency is to just set your projects for later. You will tend to think that there is no rush and that you have all the time in the world to do that.

You must realize that if this continues, you would have lots of schoolwork to catch up to. When this happens, you will be under so much pressure that you do not know what hits you.

If you want to enjoy the best out of your college life, then take these time management tips into consideration. They will ensure that you have the leisure time to enjoy other college activities.

Know what is the most important thing needed to be accomplished. Be certain about things that should be your top priority. You could drop subjects that you think is not important during that semester. Create an ordered list of these important things. Then you can try and make them your top priority before anything else.

Avoid things that distract you. It is while you are in your most focused moments that your friends appear and ask you to hang out with them. If you are like many other people, then you will feel pressured to entertain your friends.

However if you want to keep the time management you set upon yourself, you will stay and go on with what you are doing. There are a lot of things you can do so as not to be bothered. You can lock your door and hang up a “do not disturb” sign outside. You can also turn off telephone ringers and let the machine take all calls for the meantime.
Do not skip breakfast. It is true; breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The right breakfast will give you the sugars and carbohydrates to keep you energized throughout the day.

For the body conscious ones out there, skipping breakfast is not really a slimming option. You should realize that the breakfast calories are burned quickly within the day. They do not stay long in your body. By not eating your first meal in the morning, you will not only end up feeling tired easily, you will also be stripped of the drive to be at your best.

Make the most out of your class time. Do not take your lessons for granted. You will discover their usefulness when you get into the real world and begin working.

Avoid arriving late and skipping classes. Try to do some advance reading into the subjects included in the class syllabus. There is nothing wrong being a step ahead of your peers. Moreover, you will feel very confident once the professor talks about something you already know about.

Learn you should say “no.” This is one of the best things to do in order to manage your time wisely. When you are hard pressed for time, you must learn to say “no” to your friends when they ask you out. Say “no” when someone asks you for a favor when you can’t afford the time.

Just suggest to them that you will go out with them or help them another day. You don’t have to put more pressure on pressure; just say “no” when you do not think you have time for it. This is one method of prioritizing.

Be aware that there should be a time for everything. There is a time for studying. There is also a time to give yourself a break. Taking a nap is one way of resting your mind and regaining some of your exhasted energy. Going outside, hang out with friends or playing a game or two are all great activities that that help you to unwind.

Not all college students have similar time management needs. Each one has their own time management strategies they need to improve on to become succesful in their college career.

You finally made it through high school, passed your college entrance exams, and chose the university you will enroll in. Another great thing is that you have been given the opportunity to avail of scholarship for athletes.

You are thrilled, and simultaneously a little apprehensive upon entering the college campus, you have no idea what to do next. You first visit your coach and he or she informs you that practice starts early next morning.

After meeting your coach, you now go on to class. As a summary, the first day was not that bad, no homework, no formal lectures, simply plain introduction of the subject and course outline.

The following day, you wake up early in the morning, refreshed and eager for training. The coach gives you a hard time, and you take it that it is quite natural for coaches to give newbie’s a hard time.

After training, you go to your dorm to get ready for your classes. You are in shock when you attend your first class, the professor who appeared so nice turns out to be the devil from hell. The professor gives each of the students a 1500 word essay with a short deadline, and you tell yourself that you will manage. On the next class, the situation gets worse.

After the class ends, you then go over the field and make friends with the other athletes, everyone is talking about party on that night and you are invited to go. Of course, since you wish to make an impression and get their approval, you accept their invitation immediately.

In the party, a thought strikes to you that you still have that 1500 word essay to work on. However, you think that you can still manage and the deadline is not that short.

After the party, you’re tired and return to your dorm room, and as if all the things you experienced on that day wasn’t enough, your roommate is also having a small party in your dorm room. The music is loud, you can neither study nor sleep and the place is a complete mess.

You then wake up tired and stressed out, you go to the practice field late, and your performance is the worst performance in your whole life and adding to your poor performance is the thought of the 1500 word essay still untouched. The coach is angry with you because of your performance, he gives a terrible time and demands that you stay and clean up the locker room.

Finally, you get done cleaning the locker room and you go to your first class of the day as quickly as you can, but still, you get to to class late. Your professor, as a punishment, doesn’t let you into the class because of your tardiness.

What is worse is that the professor is giving tips on how to write about the essay. You think about failing the class but that would mean your athlete scholarship would be revoked.

The story narrated above may appear impossible but this situation truly happens to college athletes. They should have a more advanced time management techniques. Being admitted to college is fairly easy. The challenging part is effectively using your time to accomplish all the things you are involved with, and not affecting your studies.

Many college students find it hard to effectively manage their time between their schoolwork and their extra-curricular and social activities. It is especially so for college athletes. They got to go through stressful trainings and cannot afford to fail in their academics as they have to retain their scholarship.

The sudden increase in responsibility is very shocking for college students, especially freshmen and college athletes. You just have to study more diligently and train harder because of the new level of competition.

You may be the track star back in high school, but in college, many competitors can easily beat your record in high school. You have to train more diligently to keep ahead of the competition in your sport.

The following are several time management tips for college athletes:

One of the priorities you have to include in your time management planning is study time. You have probably done it before back in high school, but it will be quite different in college. It will be a lot harder as you have less time for studying.

As a college athlete, you can get contradictions on your match schedules and your classes and even exams. Colleges offer tutors for college athletes to avoid missing their classes and school matches.

Try to talk to your professor about your schedule and he or she might consider transferring you to another class with the same subject at another time.

After you employdevelop effective time management strategies, you will surely have sufficient time for your trainings, matches, study time, socializing, and your personal life.

Some people think they need money to learn self hypnosis. They think they need to visit a hypnotist, a guru, and some think they need to spend lots of money on the latest books and audio tapes that teach self hypnosis techniques. This is nonsense. The key to learning self hypnosis lies deep within you. You just have to awaken that part of you and bring it out. It’s not difficult. We’ve all engaged in self hypnosis at some point in our lives, most of us just weren’t aware that’s what we were doing. Have you ever zoned out while driving down the freeway, maybe during a long road trip? Miles may have passed before you realized you weren’t even concentrating on the road. It’s like your subconscious took over while your conscious mind took a break. That’s self hypnosis and you didn’t need to learn self hypnosis to go into that sort of state; it just happened. Believe it or not, the key to learning self hypnosis is deep within you; you just have to dig deep in order to uncover the lessons.

Find A Quiet Place

When you learn self hypnosis, you have to remember to be patient. This isn’t something you can rush through. You need to find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed for a long period of time. This place should be void of all outside sounds. That includes barking dogs, kids, the television and anything else that could potentially keep you from properly learning self hypnosis. If you can’t seem to find a quiet place, try some headphones that block outside noises, or listen to white noise, such as that given off by a powerful fan. Some people do like to listen to quiet, ambient music as they find this helps them to drown everything else out so that they can listen to their inner selves.

Listen To Yourself

Did you know that deep within all of us are all the lessons and instructions necessary to create the ultimate people we want to be? You know what it takes to lose weight, to quit smoking and you know what it takes to be successful; even rich. The only thing holding you back are your own self limitations, and your conscious mind telling you things are too difficult or impossible. The key to learning self hypnosis is to listen to your inner voice. This can only happen when you’re in a deep state of subconscious thinking where the only voice comes deep from within. Listen to this voice within you and practice self hypnosis often. That’s the best way to learn self hypnosis and you’ll learn more than you ever could from learning from an outside source.

Having a time table to manage your time is kind of like setting a budget. Just as the goal of a budget is to place an organization on your money, your goal in implementing effective time management techniques is to recover the management of your time.

To most people, time is money. Businesses have known this for a long time. The more time you spend on a particular task, the more money will be spent depending on the business.

Businesses do not like the idea of paying employees who waste their time in unproductive activities. They give importance to people that can present the job done in an appropriate time and manner.

In schools, you are expected to do more tasks, frequently by your teachers teachers or supervisors who don’t care about the other tasks that you are doing. It only depends to you on how you will manage all your works in order for you to finish them on the time provided to you.

Maybe, you would also want to have some free time to enjoy yourself and live out a rewarding and full life.

Here are some time management tips for you to use in order for you to meet all of your deadlines and have a systematized and well managed time table.

1. For the upcoming week, make a record of all your activities. Put in your record the time you will appropriate for each activity, what are the types of things that you should do and how long you usually take to get them done. Arrange all your data in whatever way you want, but ensure you include all of your available time to be budgeted. You should also make sure to put in your record the time when you are not busy or doing anything.

2. Study how you should manage your time. For example, think of the following questions:

• What have you observed regarding how you use your time?
• Have you completed all the tasks given to you before the deadlines. For instance, have you already completed your homework?
• Were you able to engage in other activities that you enjoy aside from your obligations at school?
• Were you able to do all your duties in your family?
• Do you still have time to spend with your friends?
• What are the activities that you enjoy doing but have no time do it at all?

After, you have found the answers to the above questions, think of the ways on how you can make your time management more effective.

3. Look for more information on the internet. There are many sites online that can help you with improving your time management.

4. Plan your own timetable to create a schedule for yourself for the entire. Make sure that you give some time for recreation. Be realistic in your anticipations. Implement your timetable for one entire week, have a precise documentation for each activity.

5. Let your friends know about your schedule. If they too have a schedule, evaluate the differences of your timetables if possible. get to understand the good sides of each timetable and be aware of how each of the timtables work.

6. Change is the only thing in your life that is constant. What you used to do during your spare time may be totally different from the things you do in half a year or one year from now. If you have a winter game that you are engaged in, you know that when the winter is over, your schedule will definitely change.

If you are involved in a drama presentation, you should expect yourself to be busier before the performance date than you are when the rehearsals initially begins.

Take a look at the big picture before starting on anything. What would your schedule for the coming year look like? Choose the dates on that timetable and plan a schedule that you can keep.

7. Make a timetable for the coming five weeks. Make sure to put any changes you expect due to your recreational activities and other seasonal events. Stick to the schedule and be prepared to do remarks on it when the five weeks are past.

For high school students, it is generally expected that they will have a busy time by their work from school. However, no matter how hectic their schedule can get, it is still imperative that they employ effective time management strategies in order to have a direction.
