There are two major groups that stem from Pentecostalism; namely, Trinitarian Pentecostals and Oneness Pentecostals. Although both denominations acknowledge the God of the Bible as the one and only God in existence, Oneness belief differs from other conventional Christian congregations as it eliminates the traditional concept of the Trinity being an insufficient and incorrect description of God.
The United Pentecostal Church International, the biggest Oneness Pentecostal body in the US, affirms that Oneness Pentecostals recognize Jesus as the human manifestation of God. Oneness doctrine emphasizes that God is indivisibly one. They believe that the transcendent and eternal God the Father manifested Himself through the human begotten Son Jesus for the purpose of humanity’s salvation. Disproving the Trinitarian principle that God is comprised of three co-divine and co-powerful persons, they teach that one God and one man co-exist simultaneously and united inseparably.
