Denzel Washington, a Proud Pentecostal

feature photo

An award-winning actor and now a producer and director, Denzel Washington was born in 1954 in Mount Vernon, New York and raised the son of a Pentecostal minister father and a beautician mother. His late father was a preacher for the mainly black denomination known as the Church of God in Christ. As a matter of fact, Denzel Washington is currently attending the Church of God congregation in Los Angeles to which he has bigheartedly donated millions of dollars.

During the 1990’s, Denzel co-starred in such great films as The Pelican Brief (1993); Philadelphia (1993), and The Preacher’s Wife (1996) to name a few. Despite the garnered fame and stardom, Denzel remains conservative in his values and principles.
